Ghanaian Gospel Sensation and Fashion Designer Abena Serwaa Ophelia has revealed that her love for singing started as far back as age 8 when she was just a little girl. He made the revelation on The Journey show with Abena Ghana on Adom TV.
Abena Serwaa Ophelia described her childhood days as a happy one especially when she found herself leading other little children in her vicinity to sing and praise God with musical instruments made with cans.
It was at age eight that I started to sing, I led my mates at the time to make noise with empty cans and drums while we sang to passersby. she said.
Abena Serwaa Ophelia also talked about her resemblance with Ghanaian Gospel Musician Gifty Adoryee. According to the gospel singer, many Ghanaians have expressed shock with their resemblance on several occasions while others have mistaken them for one another.
On her fashion sense, the “dadaada” hit maker revealed to the host Abena Ghana that, she started fashion design before entering into commercial music but was only recognized after she shot to the limelight with her music.
She also spoke about criticisms from a section of Ghanaians about her style and how she wore dresses many described as inappropriate for a gospel musician.
Speaking on the issue of competition, hatred and the odds in the gospel fraternity, Abena Serwaa Ophelia opined that those with so much time to spare are the ones who will make room for such thoughts of negativity.
In my current state with so many things on my mind, I don’t think I’ll rent a spare in my brains for negativity and competition. I am not competing with any other person. I am 100% focused on my brand, my business and the work of God. Anything other than that wont get space in my busy brain. She Said
Abena Serwaa Ophelia is set to hold the second edition of her annual worship experience.
The event dubbed “Nnaase Afore” which literally translates in English as Sacrifice of Thanksgiving will come off on November 14th at the Parliament Chapel located at Odorko Official Town.
