Karin Timpone will lead the league’s global marketing efforts and collaborate with executives across all revenue, product, and operations units as well as the 30 MLB Clubs.
Major League Baseball has appointed Karin Timpone as Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Office. Timpone will be reporting to MLB Operations and Strategy Officer Chris Marinak and also lead the MLB Event and Design Services department while accelerating global marketing efforts, and collaborating with executives in charge of revenue, product, and operation units.
Karin comes with a rich experience in the field of marketing-tech, connecting with new audiences, innovating involving technologies like blockchain, and building customer loyalty. An NYU graduate, Karin has held prominent positions in global brands like The Walt Disney Company (Senior VP, Digital Media), Yahoo! (Head of Marketing), Universal Studios (SVP, Marketing), and Mariott International (Global CMO).

At Walt Disney Company, Timpone led product strategy, marketing, and business development for the digital media. She also led marketing for a digital product portfolio for prominent events like the Oscars, ABC News Elections coverage, and many more. Later she joined Mariott International, where she executed global marketing plans for the hotel company. In her 7 years of association with the global hotel company, she optimized global investments, leaded key mergers, and catalyzed customer growth.
Timpone has been recognized by Forbes, Business Insider, Ad Age, and Adweek among the world’s most influential CMOs, as well as Adweek’s roster of Top 50 in Media and Technology. She has done a Master of Arts in Media Ecology from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Bryn Mawr College. She has completed Blockchain and FinTech certifications from MIT and Harvard University respectively. Alongside her academic timeline, she has mentored at companies and institutions like Adweek and Columbia University.
